Animal Therapy Farm
A visit to our farm can offer a range of mental, emotional and physical benefits for visitors of all ages. Here are some examples:
Mental and Emotional Benefits:
-
Learning: Our learners can learn about different types of animals and their behaviours, as well as the roles that animals play in agriculture and food production. This can help to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
-
Relaxation: Being around animals has been shown to have a calming effect on the mind and body. Petting and interacting with friendly animals can help to reduce stress and anxiety and promote a sense of well-being.
-
Happiness: Interacting with animals can also release endorphins, which are natural mood-boosters.
Physical Benefits:
-
Exercise: Our learners have the opportunity to explore our 11 acre farm, interact with the animals and engage in various activities and farm projects all of which can be tailored to meet each person's unique physical needs.
-
Tactile stimulation: Petting and touching animals can provide tactile stimulation, which can be beneficial for individuals with sensory processing disorders or developmental disabilities
It's a fun and engaging way to connect with animals and nature while promoting health and well-being.

Train Rides
TRAIN COMING SOON!
Where we are at: We have a train (holds 10+small children) and tracks we are working on. It currently runs on DC power and that is not compatible here. We are also working on creating more tracks so the train can run from the top of our property, down through the orchard and to the barnyard. Once we have more funding and volunteers available this project will pick up steam and chug right along!
