Learning

On the farm you can learn about different types of animals and their behaviours, as well as the roles that animals play in agriculture and food production. The animals require us to be mindful and reflect back at us that we have value and worth. This encourages, strengthens and supports positive mental, emotional and physical health.

Relaxation

Being around animals has been shown to have a calming effect on the mind and body. Touching and interacting with friendly animals can help to reduce stress and anxiety and promote a sense of well-being.

Happiness

Interacting with animals can also release endorphins, which are natural mood-boosters.

Heath, Andrea and family bring me pure unadulterated joy.  The whole farm is wheelchair friendly. Absolutely amazing. The farm is run by donations so if you are in the Black Creek area, I highly suggest you give them a call and check them out. There are no words to describe how stoked I was after spending a few hours connecting with them. The work that Heath and his wife are doing is beyond amazing. They are both Certified early childhood educators that are licensed to deal with children with disabilities. The property and the plans they have to develop this property now and in the future is the most wonderful act of human kindness that I have seen in a long time. Everyone in their community helps each other out, which I believe with all my heart that life should be about. I send you much love and gratitude for all you do.
